Ford Expands into Digital Retail with Amazon Used Car Sales
Ford Motor Company has launched a certified pre-owned vehicle sales program on Amazon, marking a strategic shift toward digital retail. The initiative, which went live this week, initially involves approximately 20 dealerships, with plans to onboard 10 additional dealers next week. While Ford maintains its traditional dealership model, over 160 of its 2,900 U.S. dealers have enrolled in the Amazon partnership.
The program currently serves customers in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas, with nationwide expansion planned in coming months. Ford's certified vehicles undergo rigorous inspection and come with tiered warranty options, including a 14-day or 1,000-mile return policy. The final purchase transaction still requires in-person completion at dealerships.
